Form, check. Photo, check.

Getting the form was pretty easy.

But have you ever tried getting a passport photo for a baby? Actually, it’s not as hard as you think. I popped over to Walgreen’s yesterday and it took about ten minutes, of which most was processing time. The actual photo was painless.

Now to put all of that together into a passport. That’s the hard part.

A tip I have about Eureka

If you’re here looking for a non-fast food dining event, poke around downtown. There’s an Italian restaurant (Rocco’s) just off of Main Street. The price is reasonable, and you get to eat real food—not fast food. By the way, they put a few peas in their meat sauce. This is apparently an old Italian trick to make it sweet without sugar.

A question I have about "Rio Bravo"

by Howard Hawks

Ok, I get the whole John Wayne in a Western thing.

I sort of get the Dean Martin in a Western thing.

But Ricky Nelson?

What next? Clint Eastwood singing in a Western?

The nature of work

“I am interested in why the apple falls. The company wants me to catch it and make apple sauce.”
- H.J Shaw

My company feels the same way.

Fomula

I suppose I had always noticed, but when you sit and make a point of watching all the Bond movies it becomes very obvious. There’s a formula. Maybe all movie series are like this, but I dont’ think I’m going to be watching the Police Academy movies any time soon. Nor horror franchises. In any event, I enjoy the formula. Especially the exotic locations. Even more when I’ve been to those exotic locations—though the Vegas in Diamonds are Forever is hardly the Vegas I saw earlier this year.

Now for my list of who is the best Bond:
6. Roger Moore – He seemed to think Bond was campy too. Bonus feature: a creepy old guy/too-young woman match in his later films.
5. Timothy Dalton – I never got the sense that he thought he was Bond.
4. Pierce Brosnan – Fun to watch with some great car chases. Did I mention that I love a good car chase?
3. George Lazenby – I really loved On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Lots.
2. Daniel Craig – Cooler than cool. I hope the next Bond movie is as good as Casino Royale.

1. Sean Connery – Like anyone else is really Bond. Goldfinger is my favorite of the lot. I’ve probably seen it ten times if I’ve seen it once.

A story about "Visions of Ireland"

This is a beautifully filmed video. It’s nearly trance-inducing. You will get to see great shots of Irish scenery. If you are looking for serious details for your own education or travel info, it would be best to skip this.

Good news!

The Skokie Swift now runs on the weekend!

This should make this goal a shade easier.
